AB 758 Energy Efficiency Bill

Helping to reduce carbon emissions with legislation to improve the energy-efficiency of existing buildings in California. 

NOLA Wise

Helping New Orleans residents make weatherization upgrades to save energy and improve the health and comfort of their homes.


HELPING COMMUNITIES

Citizen Entrepreneur Contest

Honoring local green heroes and awarding them grants to support their green community projects. New: Citizen Sandy.

Rebuilding Green in NY and NJ

Helping those devastated by Hurricane Sandy rebuild more resiliently in New York and New Jersey with: our search for Citizen Sandy; Solar for Sandy; and Greening Schools and Neighborhoods with our EPA work.

Rebuilding Green in San Bruno

Working with San Bruno homeowners who were victims of a 2010 gasline explosion, to provide them with the resources they need to rebuild their homes green. 

Rebuilding Green in New Orleans: Holy Cross Project

Helping New Orleans rebuild following Hurricane Katrina with a sustainable village in the Lower Ninth Ward.

Louisiana Wetland Action Program

Engaging Louisiana landowners in wetlands coastal restoration.

Bike Sharing

Working to bring a bike sharing program to the City of Santa Monica.

Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities

Helping cities across the country with green neighborhood projects using LEED for Neighborhoods.

Green Urbanism Program Work on Affordable Housing

Working as a rater on LEED for Homes affordable housing developments, including the Rio Vista Green Building Project


GREEN SCHOOLS

Green School Makeover Competition

Awarding a winning school $100,000 in green school upgrades and also assisting runner-up schools with their projects.

Greening LA Schools

Helping the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to green its schools and reduce energy and water use by 10%.


GLOBAL INITIATIVES

Solar for Haiti

Helping rebuild green following the devastating earthquake in January 2010.

Solar and Clean Water for the Congo

Helping bring solar power to victims of rapes and other atrocities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, while raising awareness about how electronics are fueling the violence. 


Environmental Security & Sustainability

Advocating for the safe and sound elimination of weapons of mass destruction and conventional weapons and we facilitate the cleanup of related military materials and waste.
