Green news stories we're still talking about from last week.
Call to Action: We called on President Obama to attend the Rio+20 Earth Summit and launched our Citizen Entrepreneur Contest to find local green heroes. (Matt Petersen's post; direct link to sign our letter to President Obama; direct link to the contest nomination form)
Party On: We had an amazing turnout at our fundraising Pre-Oscar Party on February 22 at Avalon Hollywood. (Complete coverage of our event, with photos, interviews, and more)
Green Carpet, Green Dresses: The sustainably designed dress chosen for Suzy Amis Cameron's Red Carpet Green Dress Challenge was worn by actress Missi Pyle from "The Artist" -- and was seen center stage on Oscar night when the cast accepted the best picture Oscar for the film (Ecouterre coverage of the green carpet). We also had great eco designs at our Pre-Oscar party (Emmy Rossum and models in Oliver Tolentino designs; our interview with Oliver Tolentino).
Oh, the Places Fox Goes: Fox News, which has already attacked Spongebob's so-called liberal, environmental agenda, has now gone after Dr. Seuss with criticism of "The Lorax" (Climate Progress story).
Elec-Tron-ick Ride: Our friends at Evolve Motorcycles donated a customized Xenon light motor bike -- inspired by the movie "Tron" -- to be auctioned off for our benefit (Auction; the bike on display at our party).
Countdown to Clean Energy Days: NOAA researchers say green power sources (wind, solar) can replace fossil fuel as our primary electricity source -- affordably -- in the next 20 years (Vancouver Sun story).
