Students from the Texas School for the Deaf, the school that won our Green School Makeover competition, engaged students to compete in an art competition for Earth Month and announced winners this week.

For the competition, students from kindergarten to 12th grade were asked to share their personal message demonstrating why it’s important to care for our environment and how we can all do our part to go green green.

Winners included a Mother Earth fashioned out of egg cartons; "Recycled Turkey" made with screwdrivers and shovel heads; "Robot Girl" and "Robot Dog" built from computer parts; and a model of the Capitol Building made from bottle caps.

Behind the scenes, the school has been implementing the changes to reduce waste and save water and energy.
