To mark its 20th anniversary, Green Cross International has teamed up with Peace International and the United Nations to put on a musical. That's right: Singing and dancing to seize a brighter future – and they're opening global casting call for young adults to participate.
"2050 – The Future We Want" will be an updated version of the acclaimed musical put on in 1981 by Peace Child and it will be presented live in September 2013 at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, in the main Assembly Hall of the Palais des Nations.
"Youth hold the key to our survival," said Alexander Likhotal, President of GCI. "Today's leaders will bestow upon their children, and grandchildren, a poisoned legacy if no action is taken to address climate change and its main drivers. And we know what they are: the unsustainable economic model that governs our world, and the lack of political vision, with the proffered short-sighted 'solutions' surely leading us to long-term disaster."
The open call is for young adults aged 18-25 (through March 31). Details online at the GCI website.
