Great news for Cupertino, CA. Their City Council adopted a Green Building Ordinance for private sector development. Our Green Urbanism team has been working with the city for the past two years to guide them through the process of developing this ordinance, which will require the use of LEED and GreenPoint Rated certification for larger development projects. "It puts them among leaders in that it requires formal third party certification for larger development projects," said Walker Wells, Director of our Green Urbanism Program. "This is a great victory."
This also means Cupertino's most famous business -- Apple -- will adhere to the new building codes in work on its new campus.
