The Global Green USA Online & Communications department is offering an internship for undergraduate or graduate students interested in gaining practical environmental media experience in climate change, green building, green affordable housing, green schools, and energy policy. Interns participate in a variety of activities that support both organizational and individual development.
- Video and photo cataloging and archiving of Global Green USA’s digital assets
- Labeling and cataloging photos on Global Green USA’s Flickr account
- Assisting with writing, editing, and researching blog posts for the Global Green USA website
- Shooting video and taking photos at events, editing, and posting online
- Event production, research and outreach
- Maintaining and updating databases
- Background calls to press
- Writing, editing for web content, newsletters, blog content and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Creating promotional/proposal materials for events and corporate outreach
Eligibility: Must be at least a junior undergraduate in good standing or a graduate student interested in the environment and social media. Should have a background in communications or media. Excellent writing and communication skills, good design skills, able to work independently, attention to detail, the ability to take initiative on specific projects. Computer programming skills a plus. Must be locally based in Los Angeles.
Time Commitment: Must commit to at least 10-15 hours a week for a period of 3-6 months. Exact hours to be determined with intern and academic institution.
Location: Our office is located at 2218 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405.
