Global Green's Walker Wells and Krista Frank were the Green Raters for the Crest Apartments, a LEED for Homes Platinum project which saw it's Grand Opening May 31st.
The project, designed by Michael Maltzan Architecture has won numerous awards including the AIA|LA Residential Design Award; AIA San Fernando Valley Design Award; and the ASLA Southern California Design Award.
The Developer, Skid Row Housing Trust, provides permanent supportive housing so that people who have experienced homelessness, prolonged extreme poverty, poor health, disabilities, mental illness and/or addiction can lead safe, stable lives in wellness.
Included in the Crest Apartment's spectrum of wellness is the native field landscape, which supports multiple programs, uses, and functional code requirements. Tina Chee Landscape Studio pictured right with Walker in (believe it or not) the parking lot of the CrestApartments, designed the landscape to capture 90% of the site's rainwater.
Global Green is so honored to have been a part of this spectacular project!
