Going Green Rally in Moss Point

The community is invited to a "Moss Point Going Green Concept Rally" from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday January 30th at the Moss Point High School Gym and parking lot.

FOCUS, in partnership with Gulf Coast Community and State Services, Moss Point High School Vo-Tech Program and GLOBAL USA will kick off the event. 

Guest speaker will be Charles Allen of Tulane University and the Lower Ninth Ward Center for Sustainable Engagement & Development. 

Topics to be addressed will include:

• Green Concepts will provide information to aid in energy reduction and gain significant financial savings.
• The conservation of environmental resources.
• Providing a market for recycling and serving as a catalyst for economic growth with job opportunities.

Displays and handouts from vendors such as Mississippi Power Co., Walmart, Alternate Energy Solutions, Greener Gulf Coast, Global Green USA, Alliance for Affordable Energy and more will be available.

Refreshments will be served, and names will be drawn every hour on the hour for giveaway of items relating to going green.
