Global Green’s Build it Back Green program is conductiong a series of workshops entitled "Healthy Green Home." Come learn how you can make your home healthier and greener, as well as more cost-effective.
Part Four: Indoor Air Quality
This Build it Back Green workshop will address the importance of monitoring your home's indoor air quality. Air quality can impact the respiratory and overall health of you and your family. People prone to asthma and allergies, as well as children and the elderly, are especially vulnerable. Arm yourself with the knowledge you need to make your home's indoor air quality safe. Ivan Varnado from Inspector 12 will be speaking on how to recognize mold and mildew in your home and eliminate it. Peter Seltzer from Canopy NOLA will lend advice on how to chose environmentally responsible and nontoxic building and design products for your home.

Part Three: Cool It Down
Summer is officially here and we know ya'll are sweatin it out in the Big Easy. This panel will discuss HVAC systems, fans and air-conditioning window units. It will give individuals tips on how to recognize energy efficient models and how to improve the efficiency of existing models. Most importantly guest speakers Eric Guillory of Taylor & Tyler and Mike Bowen of HumbleHG, LLC will discuss how to save money by installing the appropriate system for your home and apartment.

Part Two: Water Efficiency and Moisture Control
This workshop will focus on how to conserve water and save on utility bills by installing water efficient appliances, faucets and showerheads. This workshop will also tackle moisture control. Humidity in your home will make you uncomfortable. How do you control it? Speakers will give expert advice on how to vent humidity out of your house and keep moisture levels low. Last but not least, speakers will discuss storm water management and water catchment systems.

Part One: Weatherization and Airflow
Come learn how your house works and why the flow of air in your home is so important. Our speakers this month will include Chicago architect and recent New Orleans resident, Victor Wolbrink, Louisiana architect and author Edward Cazayoux, and New Orleans contractor Bill Robinson.
We will discuss the "stack effect" and the way air moves through your home, historic homes and how they were architecturally designed for human comfort in a hot, humid climate, and weatherization upgrades homeowners in New Orleans can make to save energy and save money.
