Global Green USA Security and Sustainability Program continues discussion on Sea-Dumped Munitions, especially Chemical Weapons (CW) as part of its Healing the Oceans initiative. Our upcoming roundtable will give a general introduction to the issue, describing the geography, quantities and potential health hazards, and, as an example, little-known details on Japan. We will also address the larger issue of conventional weapons dumped.
This session will be particularly important in defining the context within which the more in-depth roundtables to follow delve further into the primary geographic locations – the Baltic, the Pacific including Hawaii, and the Mediterranean – and tackle legal, public health and possible mitigation issues respectively. All stakeholders – US and other government representatives, experts and NGOs – are invited to attend. There will be three presentations with time for questions and discussion.
WHEN: Monday, May 10, 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Global Green USA, 1100 15th Street, NW, 11th Floor (at L Street), Washington DC, 20005
