Global Green participates in Solar Power International

A number of Global Green staff will be speaking on panels at Solar Power International 08, which takes place Oct 13-16 in San Diego, CA. Solar Power International is the largest solar conference and expo in the US, currently by a factor of more than 5, and attracts the widest range of professional attendees. The event also educates consumers through a one-night public opening of the expo hall.

Policy Stories from Abroad

The audience will gain insight on first hand experience of some of the most successful solar policy initiatives throughout the world. Policy is a key element to develop sustainable markets for solar technologies. This session will provide examples of policy development from abroad and their impact in creating market deployment and industry growth. Panel includes Matt Petersen, Global Green's president.

California Solar Electric and Solar Hot Water Initiatives: Review, Update and Forecast

Session will include a review, update and forecast of California solar activities, including but not limited to those pertaining to solar electric, solar hot water, and affordable housing. Panel includes Ted Bardacke, Senior Associate of Global Green's Green Urbanism program.

The participants in this session will learn the fundamental technical, financial, and regulatory issues related to incorporating photovoltaic and solar thermal systems in affordable housing developments. Studies show that some solar is feasible for nearly all affordable housing developments in California, up to and including systems that meet the Net Zero criteria. Leading practitioners in development, finance, integrated design, and system implementation will demonstrate through case studies how all the pieces fit together to benefit the tenants, the community, and the global climate. Panel is moderated by Walker Wells, Director of Global Green's Green Urbanism program.
