GBRC Lecture Series: Paul Kephart
Paul Kephart, President of Rana Creek Living Architecture will be speaking at the last Green Building Resource Center lecture on Friday June 26th.
Paul's firm is a leader in green roofing, best known for their work at the California Academy of Sciences. For this project, they created a living roof that covers 160,000 square feet of roof planted with over 50 plant species native to San Francisco with four steeply sloped domes replicating the surrounding rolling hills.
Paul will lecture about Rana Creek's experiences with The California Academy of Sciences and other projects the firm is currently working on as well as the benefits of living roofs such as decreased stormwater run-off, insulation, sound dampening, and the integration of living vegetation with the built environment. A short question and answer session will follow Paul's lecture, so come prepared with any questions you may have about green roofing technology.
