“Chemical Weapons Abolition: Lessons from The Hague and Iran”

featuring Dr. Shahriar Khateri and Dr. Mohammadreza Soroush
Co-Founders of the Iranian Society for Chemical Weapons Victims Support
with opening remarks from Paul Walker, Ph.D. Legacy Program Director, Global Green USA

Drs. Khateri and Soroush have worked for more than two decades with survivors of chemical weapons attacks in Iran. Joining them will be two of those survivors to discuss the aftermath of ongoing conflicts that have left entire families injured and killed thousands of other Iranians.

The Society for Chemical Weapons Victims Support (SCWVS) is dedicated to conducting awareness programs in order to increase public awareness on the consequences of war and the use of chemical weapons (and other weapons of mass destruction). Its activities communicate the importance of using diplomacy rather than war to broker peace and the necessity to abolish chemical, biological and nuclear weapons in the very near future.

Physicians for Social Responsibility, founded in 1961, is guided by the values and expertise of medicine and public health. PSR works to protect human life from the gravest threats to health and survival.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, May 7, to Cristian Ion 202-222-0700, cion@globalgreen.org
