GLOBAL GREEN CELEBRATES OPENING OF THE HOLY CROSS PROJECT VISITOR CENTER
New Orleans, May 15, 2008 – Global Green USA and The Home Depot Foundation celebrated the completion of the first green home built in the Lower Ninth Ward with residents, community leaders and city officials from the Holy Cross neighborhood. SUPPORT BETTER BUILDINGS!
Your support is needed now for CA Assembly Bill 2112 that will help mitigate the leading cause of green house gas emissions nationally by requiring all new residential buildings to be “zero net energy” by 2020. Help Global Green Continue our New Orleans Rebuilding Efforts!
SUPPORT THE HOLY CROSS PROJECT Global Green is building a sustainable low-income housing community for New Orleans ravaged Ninth Ward, that consists of five single-family homes as well as an 18 unit apartment complex. The homes will save the residents an estimated $1200 to $2400 a year in utility bills, through rain water harvesting, geothermal, solar and other systems. Global Green has just completed construction on the first single-family home and has four more to go - plus the apartment building - to help families who lost their homes, and set a new standard for healthy, energy-efficient affordable housing in New Orleans, and the country. YOU can help make a home a reality for those who need it most, the displaced families of New Orleans.
