New Orleans Green Building Resource Center & Office Internship
The Global Green USA Green Building Resource Center and Office in New Orleans is offering internship opportunities for undergraduate or graduate students interested in gaining practical experience in green building, environmental research, public policy, and the legislative process.
Interns participate in a variety of activities that support both organizational and individual development.
Duties:
- Develop, research, write, and possibly publish a project on a topic developed according to the needs of the organization, intern’s own interests, as well as potential school requirements for academic credit.
- Attend legislative strategy meetings.
- Assist with organizational needs and foundation research.
- Assist Directors in planning and implementation of green redevelopment projects.
- Assist with daily maintenance of Resource Center.
- Assist with and attend community outreach events, government and beighborhood meetings.
- Train and advise pertaining to green building materials at Resource Center, and update green building vendor information and materials.
- Train and serve as informational guide at Global Green Visitor Center in Holy Cross neighborhood of Lower Ninth Ward New Orleans.
- Door-to-door community outreach activities, to be determined.

- Build It Back Green Initiative

Eligibility:
- Must have a proven interest in green building, affordable housing, architecture, and/or related environmental issues
- Preference given to graduate students, but junior and senior undergraduate students are encouraged to apply
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), or the equivalent if from a non-US institution
Time Commitment:
Minimum 3 months, 10-15 hours per week

Global Green USA’s New Orleans Resource Center, 841 Carondelet Street, New Orleans, LA.
Global Green Holy Cross Project Visitor Center, 409 Andry Street, New Orleans, LA.
Office Hours: Monday through Friday 9am-6pm
Global Green Holy Cross Project Visitor Center: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 11am-4pm, Saturday 10am-1pm
All working hours are flexible and will be determined on an individual basis.
