Green Urbanism Program Associate (Los Angeles)

Global Green USA needs a committed and energetic person to join our Santa Monica office.  Position reports to Green Urbanism Program Director and works with local governments, affordable housing developers, architects, planners, and other non-profit organizations to develop and implement green building, renewable energy, and sustainable city programs, workshops, and projects.  Position will focus on green community development and include responsibility for LEED for Neighborhood Development and LEED Homes administration.
 
Responsibilities

  • Organize & facilitate green design charrettes, focus group meetings, and workshops/training sessions.
  • Prepare educational content for materials such as guidebooks, brochures, slideshow presentations, etc.
  • Provide green building technical assistance regarding the implementation and use of specific green planning and building strategies and ratings systems.
  • Project management
  • Proposal and grant writing
  • Project and grant reporting


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, environmental studies, or related field.
  • Graduate degree and LEED AP a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit, public agency, sustainable design, or related fields.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and organizing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a hard working, creative team.
  • High level of competency with MS Office software.
  • Experience with Adobe In Design and other graphics software.
  • Capability with GIS software for mapping and analytical purposes.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and graphic presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in collaborative settings
  • Ability to take initiative and deal with complexity

Compensation: Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Salary range $45-55K annual. Position includes full benefits including 401k plan. EOE.
