Global Green to Receive Award at 2010 Healthy Housing Conference
Global Green will be receiving an award at THE INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & TECHNOLOGIES CONFERENCE on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at their Opening Plenary Session "for the tremendous work and efforts of your organization in rebuilding areas ravaged by Katrina."
The Opening Plenary begins at 8:30 a.m. and the award ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
The conference focuses on healthy housing, including lead poisoning prevention, mold, air quality, and building codes as well as outreach, education and advocacy. Those who attend include persons from public agencies (health, housing and community development departments), community organizations, facility management companies and environmental inspection and remediation firms as well as representatives from key federal health, housing and environmental agencies.
The conference also includes customized tours of some of the recovery areas and wetlands, and presentations by Councilmember Cynthia Willard-Lewis, Artist Mel Chin (The Fundred Project) and researcher Dr. Howard Mielke (Operation Paydirt).
