Moscow, Russia, 28-30 June, 2006
Finn Longinotto spoke during a session on "Water Resources and Public Education," chaired by Bertrand Cherier, Vice President of Green Cross International. Finn's presentation highlighted the problems facing both polar regions as a result climate change. Finn summarizes his presentation in a few sentences: "Using visits and photo images from the Arctic and Antarctic, our approach to raising awareness and educating the public on this issue has focused on putting a human face on the problem. We have done this by pointing to ways in which we and our children are directly affected by climate change and, most importantly, by harnessing the power of popular culture and celebrities to get our point across."
