About

THROUGH A GENEROUS 3-YEAR GRANT FROM 2016 TO 2018, THE JPB FOUNDATION IS FUNDING GLOBAL GREEN’S LOS ANGELES SUSTAINABLE PLACEMAKING INITIATIVE. AS PART OF THIS INITIATIVE, OUR TEAM IS BRINGING SUSTAINABILITY EXPERTISE TO FOUR L.A NEIGHBORHOODS (LITTLE TOKYO, CRENSHAW CORRIDOR, BOYLE HEIGHTS, AND EAST-HOLLYWOOD PROMISE ZONE) IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE BENEFICIAL COMMUNITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS FROM COMMUNITY-LED, SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROJECTS. DURING YEAR 1, THE FOUNDATION'S SUPPORT HAS ENABLED OUR TEAM TO MAKE STRIDES TOWARD CREATING A NETWORK OF SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBORHOODS IN LOS ANGELES THAT CAN SERVE AS A MODEL FOR OTHER COMMUNITIES. THROUGH NEIGHBORHOOD ASSESSMENTS, STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, AND PLACE-BASED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, WE ARE HELPING TO IMPROVE THE LIVEABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OF THESE FOUR LOS ANGELES COMMUNITIES.
