Feb. 24, 2016 (LOS ANGELES) - Global Green will roll out the green carpet for hundreds of eco-conscious stars and allies at its 13th annual pre-Oscar party on Feb. 24 at the Mr. C Beverly Hills Hotel that will feature an opening act by Charlie Puth, special headlining performance by Stevie Wonder and dinner program emceed by renowned journalist Soledad O'Brien.

“Global Green USA is proud to collaborate with the entertainment industry to celebrate the recent progress in climate change and environmental achievements and to raise funds to continue our critical work in Los Angeles and in cities across the country,” said Global Green USA CEO Dr. Les McCabe. “We’re especially excited this year to recognize the World Bank's Connect4Climate initiative, the United Nations' leadership on climate change and Global Green Champions, four student gardeners who will help launch a global educational curriculum through a partnership with the MUSE School.”

Special celebrity guests – including Seal, Yoko Ono, Paula Abdul, Ed O'Neil, Jason Ritter, Emily Ratajkowski, Heather McDonald, Josh Radnor, Justin Baldoni, Maggie Grace, Melanie Lynskey, Amy Berg, Radha Mitchell and Walt Goggins – will be in attendance to celebrate, many of which will be arriving in eco-friendly cars provided by LAcarGUY.

The World Bank Group’s global partnership program, Connect4Climate, will be awarded for public outreach, youth engagement and advocacy work that it has been doing to advance environmental and climate change education, and to find innovative ways to take climate change concerns to a wider public, especially by working with the creative industries to maximize exposure of the issues at stake and encourage the acceleration of solutions.

To kick off a global partnership to launch the MUSE School’s Seed-to-Table program, Global Green will recognize a fourth-grade MUSE student with the Global Green/MUSE ECO leader award, and three student Global Green Champions will be recognized from the Environmental Charter Middle School and the Tom Bradley Global Awareness Magnet School. The innovative MUSE Seed-to-Table curriculum program is focused on students actively engaging in the reduction, conservation and repurposing of food, energy and water resources. The program explores the following areas: nutrition, cooking, permaculture, composting, GMOs, sustainable agriculture, alternative energy, organic farming, worm farms, and best use water practices.

A collaboration between the MUSE School and Global Green, the program gives teachers the opportunity to establish Seed-to-Table programs on their campuses and develop student growth and education in the reduction, conservation and repurposing of food, energy and water. Besides providing a platform for conservation, the Seed-to-Table program also integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), giving students the opportunity to preserve the planet while learning academic content. Launching in the summer of 2016, the MUSE School/Global Green Seed-to-Table fellowship program is set to certify teachers in the MUSE Seed-to-Table program.

Celebrities will arrive to the party in style via eco-friendly cars provided by LAcarGUY, a local and family-owned business that has been a longtime supporter of the community, charitable organizations and environmental causes. Its green fleet of cars will provide transportation, contributing another layer of environmental-conscious features at the celebration.

Upon arrival, stars and special guests will be welcomed by a sustainable green carpet manufactured by Milliken using Aquafil’s sustainable ECONYL® nylon yarn. Made entirely of various nylon waste materials such as abandoned fishing nets, party guests will make their way down the green carpet into the Mr. C Beverly Hills Hotel where the cocktail reception awaits.

Party-goers will enjoy delicious appetizers and meals from an organic menu featuring Mr. C’s world-famous Cipriani cuisine, with a focus on plant-based dishes as well as local, organic poultry and sustainably caught seafood.

The event will also feature several unique sustainable auction items including a one-of-a-kind Kimberly McDonald 18k Green Gold necklace; a sustainable trip to the One&Only Palmilla Getaway in Los Cabos, Mexico; and a unique original framed photograph from Polar Explorer Sebastian Copeland. Guests and Global Green social media followers will also have the opportunity to donate to Global Green by texting GG to 41444.
