Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills Celebrates Global Wellness Day on June 11 with Top Lifestyle Experts and Brands

Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills will be actively participating in Global Wellness Day again this year on Saturday, June 11 2016 through a variety of fitness, spa, and food and beverage initiatives with leading experts and brands. Michael Newcombe, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, is very passionate about Global Wellness Day, as the team is constantly introducing new wellness amenities, and Newcombe also oversees all 41 Four Seasons Spas in the Americas.
This year, Global Wellness Day will be celebrated in 100 countries from sunrise in New Zealand until sunset in Hawaii. Founded five years ago by Belgin Aksoy from Istanbul, this is a special day that reminds the entire world of the importance of living well, encompassing everything from exercise and beauty treatments, spiritual teachings and ways of thinking, to the harmony between body and spirit. This is a social movement without any commercial purpose, celebrated around the world on the second Saturday of June every year. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts decided to partner with Global Wellness Day to highlight the company’s vast wellness initiatives and outstanding spas within the portfolio.
“Living well is the simple necessity for every human being on the planet,” says Belgin Askoy, Global Wellness Day Founder. “To overcome the global problems such as depression and lead a healthier and happier life, we need an inspiring beginning. The name of that beginning is Global Wellness Day.”
The morning of Global Wellness Day will begin at 8:00 am at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills with famed yogi and wellness ambassador Rainbeau Mars, who will lead a sunrise yoga session for the second year in a row in conjunction with Global Green on the Hotel’s rooftop helicopter pad, which features 180 degree views of the city. Shel Pink, founder of SpaRitual, will be speaking at a media breakfast at Culina following the yoga session, about her Slow Beauty concept.
lululemon will have a fitness-based fashion trunk show, while SoulCycle will simultaneously showcase their exclusive bikes with passes to classes at their nearby locations, both on the Upper Pool Deck of Four Seasons from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, open to Hotel guests. Weiser Farms will be partnering with Four Seasons Executive Chef Cyrille Pannier to showcase the farm-to-table offerings at the poolside Cabana Restaurant. Intuitive Jill Willard will lead a session at 3:00 pm on improving energy centres for a clear mind, body and intuition. There will also be a discussion at 4:00 pm by wellness expert Nikki Sharp, author of the new 5 Day Real Food Detox book. The day will conclude with a sunset breath work meditation session at 5:30 pm by Scott Schwenk from Unplug Meditation on the Upper Pool Deck.
The Spa at Four Seasons Los Angeles will also donate USD 10 from each BioMeditation energy treatment and ila Manipura Experience spa treatment that takes place on June 11 to Global Green.
In addition, the Hotel’s culinary team will offer complimentary fresh green juices, made in house, available in the lobby on the morning of June 11 from 7:00 to 10:00 am for Hotel guests. Four Seasons Executive Chef Cyrille Pannier and Chef Denis Dello Stritto from Culina restaurant have created special breakfast, lunch and dinner wellness menus for Saturday, June 11, in which USD 1 of each menu item sold will benefit Global Green. Breakfast options include acai bowls with almond milk, honey, bee pollen, berries and granola; first burrito of the day with quinoa, black beans, avocado and egg whites; multigrain Irish oats with house made berry compote; and the popular sinless benedict with kale, organic eggs, tomatoes and pesto, minus the bread.
Wellness lunch items at Culina restaurant will include the rustica kale salad; pera vegana salad with grilled pears and house made almond “ricotta” plant-based cheese; ortolana vegan pizza and escarole salad. The Global Wellness Day menu at the poolside Cabana restaurant will feature parsley and kale superfood rigatoni; antioxidant salad; grilled Japanese eggplant with tahini; and quinoa chile rellenos. The wellness menu at Culina for dinner on June 11 will include polpo alla griglia, rustica salad, scarola Salad, branzino and salmone.
The Hotel will also offer wellness initiatives for employees, including antioxidant juices and smoothies, and healthy dishes in the employee cafeteria.
