Global Green Announces 2016 Environmental Awards Honorees

Star-Studded 20th Anniversary Gala to Recognize Sustainable Leaders from Entertainment, Politics, Transportation, Building, New Media, and Corporate Sectors

September 15, 2016 – (Los Angeles, CA) - The 20th Anniversary Global Green Awards will be held on Thursday evening, September 29 at the historic Alexandria Ballrooms in downtown Los Angeles and will honor Facebook, LA Metro, Trammell S. Crow, Earth Friendly Products, John Picard, Mohamed Nasheed (former President of the Maldives, climate leader and Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience) and actor Shailene Woodley and Lori Woodley, Founders of All it Takes.

This year’s awards gala will feature a Farm-To-Table gourmet vegan dinner provided by Akasha’s new restaurant AR Cucina along with organic wine provided by Bonterra and beer by Sierra Nevada. Event sponsors include U.S. Green Building Council, Thrive Market, LA DWP, JMB Realty and Icelandic Water. The event is chaired by Global Green Founder Diane Meyer Simon. Vice Chairs are Rachel & Sarah Meyer Simon and Cathy & Ed O’Neill, The event was founded by past president Matt Petersen.

The Global Green Awards (formerly the Millennium Awards), were established in 1996 to recognize and herald those whose lives and livelihood embody our global founder President Gorbachev’s call to reconnect humanity to the environment and to celebrate sustainable leadership.
